Whole dried bottarga (Bottarga di Muggine)

Whole dried bottarga, vacuum-packed and in a gift box.

Bottarga di Muggine is a traditional Sardinian delicacy.

It is a bag containing salted, pressed and dried mullet roe.

Bottarga has an intense flavour reminiscent of the sea and is therefore popular with seafood lovers.

The bag of roe is removed whole from the inside of the mullet and then salted to remove moisture. It is then pressed and then dried in the open air for several days.

Ideal as a seasoning for pasta 'spaghetti alla bottarga', which smells of the Mediterranean. It is sprinkled on pre-cooked and then fried spaghetti that has been sautéed in oil with garlic, parsley and a few drops of lemon.

After the fish is caught, it is processed fresh in the Mr. Moris laboratory, where the entire processing cycle takes place, right through to packaging. It starts with the selection of the fish, cleaning, cooking and the final stage of packaging. And all this with full respect for the old artisanal tradition.

FAO fishing area: FAO 34

Method of catching the fish: purse seines

Ingredients: Mugil Cephalus roe, sea salt.

Storage: unopened products may be stored outside the refrigerator in a cool dry place. Once opened, store in the refrigerator and consume within 15 days.

The grey mullet bottarga (Bottarga di Muggine) is better known, more refined and more delicate than the Bottarga of tuna (Bottarga di Tonno). It is a gourmet product that is most often used among top international chefs.
